Life: Embarking on Our Route
Life: Embarking on Our Route
Life. Life is perceived and experienced differently across the entire human population. Despite viewing life in different lenses, we are still engaging in similar routines; Working hard and constantly hoping for an easier life. In this post, we will be discussing what we really should do in life, if we should follow the crowd or our instincts, setting goals, and the importance of work-life balance. Please feel free to input your comments below to engage in further discussions.
The Norm
All of us work hard in our own ways; be it fulfilling the
job scope, perfecting an essay, or even caregiving. This unique trait
that we humans share is most likely to be adapting in nature, due to the
hard circumstances our ancestors faced. However, with the advent
of technology, many of us begin to realise working is not everything in
life. There are certainly many things that we can enjoy, things that
even our ancestors have missed. If you are reading this, you must be one
of those who have questioned about the meaning of life and wondered if you
must feel stressed out just like the others, in order for life to
be "meaningful". I'm happy to tell you, at least in my opinion:
No, you don't have to.
Setting, Planning, and Following Our Route
Life is an experience. Working is created out of our experiences, and is one in life itself. This means that there are tons of other experiences yet to be discovered. Yes working is important, but not to forget, working is to allow the entire population to achieve a better life and experience the things we have always looked forward to, which can be as simple as having a family dinner every week.
But what are things more important than working? Miss it once and your might regret? What are some other solutions besides working more than 8 hours a day? Will it be possible to create a masterplan yourself and earn money from it?
Yes, it just takes time, patience, and failures. Nothing is impossible.
To summarise: Do not let living to work become a norm.
Now that you have read the questions, you probably have some answers in mind. You guessed them right, those answers depend on your goals-- something that you desire and are eager to achieve even though you might not be consciously aware of it. For example, your goal is to spend more time bonding with your dearest Fam. Hence, your answer to the first question might be family. For the second question and third question might allow you to realise you need a change, perhaps working less hours and getting more leeway. Now that you set your directions, know your desires and goals in this life, how will you change your life to achieve this goal?
Truly coming to conscious awareness about life and accepting life as it is takes a long way. While we find a lot of ambiguous things both within and outside our mind and body, we can navigate them through eventually, slowly but surely.
Life is short and time can never rewind. Every moment is precious and forms a page of our life story. If we have set your path, good. Now change direction and head forward. Do not be afraid of failures and constant changes, because taking risks (small ones) is always better than doing nothing.
